Wayne Hall

Master Wayne Hall was born and raised in Hawaii, living next door to a Judo and Aikido dojo. As the youngest of six children, Sensei Hall learned Judo first by becoming a practice throwing bag for his older brother Phillip who was a student at the dojo. In the fifth grade he started Aikido classes, loved every minute and practiced everyday with friends. As a teenager he studied Okinawin Karate under the Hawaii Tikenjutsu Kai organization.

In 1979 Hall and his family moved to Oklahoma where he met a great Aikido Instructor named Quan Van Tran who learned Aikido in Vietnam under Master Dang Thong Phong, founder of International Tenshinkai Federation. He studied Aikido until Jan. 1995 when he decided to open his own school in Tuttle, Oklahoma with Sensei Van Tran’s blessings.

At present, Master Hall’s rank is 7th dan in Aikido, promoted by the International Martial Arts Grandmasters council and 1st dan in Judo promoted by Grandmaster Phil Porter president USMAI. Master Hall also holds a Doctrine of Philosophy in Asian Martial Arts through World Organizer of Martial Arts. Master Hall is also a non-member advisor to the Asian Fraternity, Tau Kappa Omega at Oklahoma University.

Hall was inducted into the USMA Millennium Hall of Fame 2000 as Master Instructor and again as Master Instructor of the year 2001. He has also been inducted in 2002 by the Universal Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Master of the Year, in 2003 by the Native American Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Master of the Year, and also in 2003 as Senior Master Aikido Instructor by the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
